The apple of my eye, firstborn and daughter Andrea, is in Glasgow tonight.
She has just been through the ringer, auditioning for a place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, one of the top such schools in the world, from what I am told.
From an initial group of around 25, she has made it through two cuts and is now a finalist, along with four others.
Glasgow wasn't really Andrea's first choice, but now that she has seen the city and the academy, she is really excited by it all.
I bid your prayers that she makes the final cut and is one of the two or three who will be selected.
Thank you.

Fingers crossed. If she's successful, she'll at least learn a better Scots accent than Mel Gibson's!
