American readers need to see what Robert George has to say about the record of the Democrat's Presidential candidate. This is not a political blog, and we are not endorsing anyone. Nonetheless, I know Robert George from editorial discussions among editors of Touchstone, and my brother David Bentley Hart knows him even better. When he documents facts, those facts are reliable.
Some of the facts Dr. George presents are new to me, and I thought of myself as well-informed.
Here is the link.
Robert P. George is McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University. He is a member of the President's Council on Bioethics and previously served on the United States Commission on Civil Rights. He sits on the editorial board of Public Discourse.

I will add one thing. Many people echo the slogan "nobody is in favor of abortion itself," or words to that effect. It is simply not true. Abortion is a multimillion dollar business in America, and anyone who thinks that the practice has no active promoters and salesmen is living in a fantasy land. Planned Parenthood alone makes a killing from it ("informed consent, a matter between a woman and her doctor" is pure fiction. "Her doctor?" More like a total stranger who rushes through the "procedure" with no prior consultation).
Father Hart,
First, I want to thank you for this post. I knew the facts thanks to talk radio of the type which the Democrat Party (NOT!) wants to silence, but now I have a place to send others who would like something more than my word.
Secondly, I appreciate your comment upon what I can only call the Abortion Racket. My late wife over twenty years ago stopped an attempt by Planned Parenthood to funnel money to them to set up a baby killing facility in a Northern California county which had refused to be the conduit of such money to the agency. This is to say that PP was as so many liberal agencies entirely willing to attempt to evade and break federal statues for the purpose of enriching themselves. As much as the San Francisco Board of Supervisors wanted to do so, they dared not after being publicly exposed.
Christians are supposed to obey and respect the law, but the law of God says "Thou shall do no murder," and our national willingness to murder the innocent while trying to get the guilty off is more than this Christian can bear. There is no way that I could support a man for any office who supports infanticide or any group or individual who would support such a person.
Amen.

Fr Hart,
I thought you would be interested in the remarks Abp Chaput (speaking for himself only, mind you) made at the ENDOW dinner Friday night. I had the privilege of attending - it's the first time I've heard him speak in person.

As a former prosecutor and quasi-Constitutional expert (in my own mind!), I can attest that Robert P. George is a true expert and knows where of he speaks.
