67 Christians killed by a radical Muslim group in NIGERIA

LAGOS, - At least 67 people died in a wave of bombings and shootings carried out in northeast Nigeria overnight, officials said Saturday, as frightened mourners left their homes to begin burying their dead.

A radical Muslim sect known locally as Boko Haram claimed responsibility Saturday for the attacks, which represent the most coordinated and wide-ranging assault yet in their increasingly bloody sectarian fight with Nigeria's weak central government. The sect, which wants the strict implementation of Shariah law across the nation of more than 160 million people, promised to carry out more attacks.

When in February 2006 Nigerian Muslims rioting over the Danish newspaper cartoon controversy killed 43 Christians, burned 30 churches and destroyed 250 shops and houses, former Anglican Primate of the Church of Nigeria Peter Akinola issued this statement in his capacity as President of the Christian Association of Nigeria: "May we at this stage remind our Muslim brothers that they do not have the monopoly of violence in this nation."

Our Muslim "brothers" will need more than just a veiled threat posing as a "reminder". As Catholic historian Thomas Madden clearly brings out in his work, the Crusades were mainly defensive wars. Nothing has changed, really. Islam is a violent, totalitarian religion, and Akinola's veiled threat clearly needs to be graduated to preparation for active armed resistance. We need a new generation of Charles Martels, a new "Holy League", whose efforts will require concentration in Christian Africa.

Absolutely right, Caedmon. And we have let them into our country where they are now beginning to demand that we surrender to their values and put aside those of the Christian faith.

Another good, well-written source is the blog Jihad Watch led by Robert Spencer. Spencer has led seminars on Islam and jihad for the United States Central Command, United States Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army's Asymmetric Warfare Group, the FBI, the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the U.S. intelligence community. Well worth reading.

Are they even sane as a human being? I understand that the religion is the same but it doesn't mean that they have to kill. Don't they teach that on there religion?
