I found this on a blog in Brazil, which may be most appropriate as a message for the less Anglo-Catholic among our readers:
A bit of graffiti across the street from a church ...
Jesus isn't deaf!!!
Pray quietly
and respect the ears of the other children of God.
Sorry, even if you don't read Portuguese, you'll get a chuckle out of this blog:

Hmmm. Yes, liturgical worship should be done with a "decency and order" appropriate to public prayer. And we should not pray so as to prevent others doing so. But there is a time and a place for everything. And don't forget Ps 150. Apparently God is not averse to LOUDness on occasion.
ReplyDeleteAnglican Catholics need to make sure they do not react from cultural prejudice rather than spiritual discernment. Or so says this Anglican Catholic priest brought up Pentecostal. :-)
MK+
and here's another Fr. Kirby statement to which this former Pentecostal pastor can say a loud Amen.
